How this number is built
We start from a 2026 national baseline for inground pool construction and apply a Vermont cost factor of 1.02, which reflects local labour, permitting and material costs. That puts Vermont 2% above the national average — ranked #34 of 51 from cheapest to most expensive.
That range covers an inground pool with decking and permits. Fiberglass sits at the lower end, gunite at the upper. Site access, excavation difficulty and any spa or water features move it fastest.
What moves the price
- Size and shape
- Gunite vs fiberglass vs vinyl liner
- Excavation access and soil conditions
- Decking, spa, heating and automation
